As we look ahead to the future, Interseed is planning to embark on some exciting new ventures both locally and abroad.
In response to rapid population growth and an increasing demand for quality education, Interseed, in partnership with Mueller College and Creekside Community Church, will participate in the construction of the first stage of a new independent school called Carmichael College. The school is located in Morayfield, QLD and will initially serve its surrounding communities by providing education for students in Prep through to Year 6. It is envisioned that the school will gradually grow to accommodate all grades through to year twelve.
Interseed anticipates that the school will become a busy community hub and will serve as a springboard to new charitable programs to serve both the school and wider communities.
Additionally, Interseed is currently in talks with active stakeholders and service providers in the field of mental health to investigate the possibility of establishing on the North side of Brisbane, a respite service for carers of mental health patients.
On the international level, it has been the dream of Interseed to move away from one-off short term projects and move toward establishing a permanent presence overseas that will serve the interests of local people who struggle with poverty and the associated difficulties it brings. To this end, Interseed is currently negotiating the possibility to take over the operations of a school in Cambodia which has been abandoned for the last 18 months. It is hoped that the re-invigorated school will serve as a community hub from which other helping services can be established to serve families who struggle with severe poverty every day. It is anticipated that regular short term trips can be made to improve and or add to the facility. It is hoped that this model can then be replicated in other parts of the world in the future.
One other innovative move has been the establishment of passive income streams through the creation of small businesses wholly owned by Interseed and whose surpluses go directly to funding the foundation’s charitable work.
One such business enterprise that is now operational is a funeral company called SOVERIEGN Funerals. SOVEREIGN is a full service funeral company that operates from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast, as far west as Ipswich and everywhere in between. SOVEREIGN is committed to offering grieving families excellent service at an affordable price. In addition, SOVEREIGN can offer the unique opportunity for families to leave a lasting memorial to their loved one. When families arrange a funeral with SOVEREIGN they are helping the work of Interseed and as such, they are helping the world their loved ones have left behind.
